Registered Roof Observer

Position Overview
The Registered Roof Observer will be responsible for conducting quality assurance observations and monitoring roofing projects during construction. This is a travel-intensive role, ideal for someone who thrives in the field and is passionate about ensuring the highest standards in roofing system performance. Candidates who are not yet RRO-certified but meet eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply-support for certification is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site quality assurance observations for roofing installations
- Monitor construction for compliance with drawings, specifications, and warranty requirements
- Conduct inspections of roofing and other building exterior systems
- Assist with roof integrity and enclosure field testing
- Prepare detailed written reports with photographic documentation
- Collaborate with Project Managers on inspection and testing projects
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
- Ensure safety compliance and uphold company policies
- Provide excellent client service and clear communication
- Support administrative tasks such as invoicing and documentation
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- RRO certification or 5+ years of commercial roofing experience with eligibility to sit for the RRO exam within 6 months (exam costs covered)
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems
- Ability to write clear, concise site observation reports
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working at heights and in various field conditions
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel nationwide as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AAMA, ASTM)
