Remote - HVAC Controls Distech Programmer
Remote Distech Controls Programmer - Data Center Projects
We're looking for a Distech programmer who genuinely knows the platform at its core - not just someone who can navigate the front end, but someone who understands how the controllers behave, how the logic interacts with mechanical systems, and how to build reliable programs that hold up in mission‑critical environments. Our team supports a growing portfolio of data center projects across the US, and we need someone who can step in with confidence, take ownership of their work, and collaborate with a distributed group of engineers, project managers, and field technicians.
This role is fully remote, but it's not a passive, sit‑in‑the-background position. You'll be involved from early design reviews through programming, integration, testing, and commissioning support. You'll be the person others rely on when a sequence needs to be interpreted correctly, when a controller needs to be built from scratch, or when a system isn't behaving the way it should. Data centers demand precision, consistency, and clean logic - and we're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exactly that.
What you'll be doing
Programming Distech controllers at an expert level, including building logic, graphics, and device configurations
Translating sequences of operation into reliable, efficient, real‑world control strategies
Supporting integration across BAS, mechanical systems, and IT networks
Troubleshooting issues remotely and guiding field teams through testing and commissioning
Reviewing project documentation and ensuring programming aligns with design intent and site conditions
Participating in internal discussions around standards, templates, and best practices
What you bring
Deep, hands‑on experience with Distech at the controller level - not just familiarity, but mastery
Ability to write, modify, and debug programs independently
Strong understanding of HVAC fundamentals, especially data center cooling strategies (CRACs, CRAHs, chilled water, economizers, redundancy, etc.)
Comfort working remotely and communicating clearly with distributed teams
A problem‑solver's mindset and the ability to stay calm when systems don't behave as expected
Experience supporting commissioning teams is a plus
Why this role matters Data centers don't get second chances. The work you do directly impacts uptime, reliability, and energy performance. If you're someone who enjoys the challenge of building systems that simply have to work - and you take pride in clean, thoughtful programming - you'll fit right in.
If you're ready to bring your Distech expertise to a team that values technical depth, autonomy, and craftsmanship, we'd like to talk.
