Role Overview: Right-of-Way Agent
This position centers on securing property rights for infrastructure initiatives in transportation and aviation. Key responsibilities include:
- Researching property details and initiating contact with owners
- Preparing and presenting acquisition offers
- Navigating regulatory requirements at both state and federal levels
- Supporting the closing process for property transactions
- Traveling as needed to meet with stakeholders, which may involve extended driving
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in right-of-way acquisition or related negotiation fields (e.g., real estate, appraisal, relocation, surveying, construction management, environmental or civil engineering)
- Prior work with DOTs or municipal infrastructure projects; familiarity with Tennessee is a plus
- Tennessee real estate license preferred but not mandatory
- Must be or be willing to become a Tennessee Notary Public within 60 days of hire
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to interpret technical plans and documents
- Comfortable navigating office settings and engaging with colleagues
