Role Overview
They are looking to hire a Roof Consultant to support continued growth in their consulting and advisory practice. This individual will work closely with clients to evaluate existing roof systems, provide technical recommendations, and oversee roofing projects from assessment through completion.
This is a client-facing role suited to someone who enjoys a balance of fieldwork, technical reporting, and problem-solving within the building envelope space.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform roof condition assessments, inspections, and surveys on commercial buildings
- Conduct leak investigations and provide root cause analysis
- Develop detailed reports outlining findings, recommendations, and repair/replacement options
- Prepare technical specifications and scopes of work for roofing projects
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and material selections
- Provide construction administration support, including site visits and quality assurance
- Collaborate with owners, facility managers, architects, and contractors
- Assist in developing preventative maintenance plans and capital expenditure forecasts
- Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred but not essential)
- 3-10+ years of experience in roofing, waterproofing, or building envelope consulting/contracting
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems (low-slope, steep-slope, single-ply, modified bitumen, etc.)
- Experience with inspections, condition assessments, and technical reporting
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices
- Professional certifications such as RRO, RRC, CDT, or equivalent are highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Willingness to perform fieldwork, including roof access and site travel
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 (DOE)
