Job Description:
Seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to support Resident Engineers on transportation and infrastructure projects. This role sits within a hands-on team delivering complex public works projects across Northern California.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and facilitate meetings with contractors, agencies, and stakeholders
- Review RFIs, submittals, and project correspondence
- Track and maintain project documentation and records
- Monitor contractor work for compliance with plans and specifications
- Manage project budgets, cost analysis, and payment approvals
- Evaluate change orders, extra work, and schedule impacts
- Maintain as-built drawings and assist with project closeout
- Support claims review and contract administration processes
Qualifications:
- Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 4+ years of construction engineering experience on infrastructure projects (or 10+ years without a degree)
- Background working with public agency projects (Caltrans or local agencies preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, contracts, and project controls
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, client-facing environment
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary ($124,800 - $166,400)
