Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager - India to drive capital project sales and Build-Own-Operate (BOO) opportunities across the municipal, industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors.

This role focuses on strategic pipeline development, market expansion, and full lifecycle opportunity management-from lead generation through to contract execution.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, technical, and finance teams to deliver competitive, compliant solutions aligned with Indian market requirements and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Market Development

  • Identify and drive sales opportunities for capital equipment and BOO projects across India.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, EPC partners, technology collaborators, and key government stakeholders.
  • Expand the company's presence in established segments while identifying growth opportunities in new markets.

Project Structuring & Technical Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal engineering and finance teams to prepare compliant, cost‑competitive proposals.
  • Manage the technical, contractual, and regulatory aspects of project development.
  • Ensure alignment with national and state-level environmental and renewable energy regulations.

Pipeline & Sales Execution

  • Oversee the full sales cycle-from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Maintain a robust, well-qualified sales pipeline with consistent forecasting accuracy.
  • Achieve or exceed annual revenue and sales targets.

Market Intelligence & Representation

  • Gather and analyze market intelligence across the waste-to-energy, biogas, wastewater, and environmental sectors.
  • Represent the company at relevant conferences, trade shows, and stakeholder events.
  • Support regional partner networks and guide local sales activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of senior-level sales or business development experience within India in:
    • Waste-to-energy
    • Biogas / anaerobic digestion
    • Wastewater treatment
    • Renewable energy
    • Environmental services
  • Proven track record in securing large capital projects or BOO/PPP-style infrastructure opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of Indian regulatory frameworks, including solid waste management rules and renewable energy policies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to adapt to digital tools.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Hindi or additional Indian languages is an advantage.
