Position Title: Scheduling Manager
Role Overview:
The Scheduling Manager will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules, supporting bid and proposal efforts for projects averaging $250M annually. This role includes identifying trends and risks, and reporting variances and opportunities to both operations and leadership teams.
The Scheduling Manager will oversee the creation, monitoring, and reporting of construction schedules, including reviewing schedules submitted by external contractors. A strong understanding of construction logistics, methods, materials, equipment, crew sizing, and sequencing is essential. The role also requires excellent communication and leadership abilities, along with expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Facilitate planning meetings and scheduling workshops with project teams.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and approve Baseline Schedules.
- Gather and input project updates; analyze critical path changes and suggest improvements.
- Forecast future performance using current data and production metrics.
- Identify and communicate schedule risks proactively.
- Develop "what-if" scenarios and workaround strategies as needed.
- Document changes and conditions to support claim avoidance.
- Conduct schedule peer reviews and audits.
- Integrate cost and labor tracking into schedules.
- Promote continuous improvement in scheduling practices.
- Provide on-the-job scheduling training to team members.

- Maintain reliable attendance and meet project deadlines.
- Foster strong, positive relationships both internally and externally.
- Support the organization's matrix structure and overall objectives.

Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in scheduling or related construction roles (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- In-depth knowledge of construction logistics, sequencing, materials, equipment, and crew sizing.
- Experience in industrial construction is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including cost/resource loading.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret complex project documentation and analyze data trends.
Preferred:
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or productivity analysis.
- Ability to forecast project outcomes and identify scheduling risks.
