Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Rockwell Automation platforms. This role focuses on the design, development, and support of industrial automation systems, with a strong emphasis on Allen‑Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk View SE/ME. The position is hybrid, combining on-site work at the Hopedale, MA facility with remote flexibility, and supports automation initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions using Rockwell Automation technologies
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot Allen‑Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and related platforms)
  • Develop, maintain, and support HMI/SCADA applications using FactoryTalk View SE and ME
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to deliver automation projects
  • Perform system testing, validation, commissioning, and start-up support
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and ongoing support for automation systems
  • Create and maintain documentation, including electrical schematics, control logic, and system configurations
  • Ensure all systems comply with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation products
  • Strong proficiency in Allen‑Bradley PLC programming using RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000
  • Proven experience developing HMI solutions with FactoryTalk View SE and ME
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, ControlNet)
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a hybrid work environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or process automation environments
  • Knowledge of motion control systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • Exposure to scripting or additional automation platforms
  • Experience with HVAC and process control systems
  • Familiarity with the Ignition SCADA platform

Work Environment

This hybrid role requires on-site presence at the Hopedale, MA facility for system integration, commissioning, and hands-on support. Remote work flexibility is available based on project requirements.
