Experience Level: Senior (13+ years)

A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager to lead bridge and structural design projects for state agencies and municipalities across the Northeast. This is a leadership role within the structural engineering group, offering opportunities to manage complex projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects from scope development through construction phase services.

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

  • Oversee preparation of contract plans and technical documents.

  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, ensuring quality control and technical accuracy.

  • Coordinate with clients, internal teams, and subconsultants to drive projects to completion.

  • Conduct field inspections and collect data for structural assessments.

  • Participate in client and public meetings.

  • Support business development and proposal efforts as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • 13+ years of experience in bridge/structural engineering.

  • Strong background in structural analysis and design.

  • Experience with MassDOT projects.

  • Proven project management skills.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to perform field work in various weather conditions.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Experience with RIDOT, NHDOT, CTDOT, or MaineDOT projects.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, OpenBridge Designer, SAP2000, AASHTOWare BrR, and Excel.
