Senior Consulting Engineer / Senior Consulting Architect
A leading building enclosure and structural consulting firm is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer or Senior Consulting Architect to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects involving the investigation, evaluation, design, and repair of existing buildings, while also contributing to new construction projects.
The successful candidate will manage client relationships, oversee project delivery, mentor junior staff, and work on a diverse portfolio of challenging building envelope projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage building envelope assessment, repair, and rehabilitation projects.
- Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, and documentation of existing structures.
- Diagnose and remediate building enclosure failures and water intrusion issues.
- Design repairs for exterior wall systems, roofing, waterproofing, windows, curtain walls, and related components.
- Perform field testing and material sampling of various building systems.
- Collaborate with contractors, architects, owners, and consultants throughout project delivery.
- Provide construction phase services and technical support.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and architects.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Support dispute resolution and expert consulting assignments when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in building enclosure consulting, architecture, engineering, or construction.
- Strong project management and client-facing experience.
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to perform fieldwork, including inspections at height and travel to project sites.
