Senior Project Engineer
Full Time | San Diego, CA
Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000 Annually

Qualifications
- BSCE degree and CA Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of directly relevant experience, or the equivalent of eighteen (18) years of industry experience
- Local San Diego County and California experience preferred
- Ability to sustain positive business relationships, obtain new work, and market firm services
- Active and continuous involvement in community and professional societies/organizations
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Independent thought, sound decision-making, and excellent communication skills
- A minimum of five years of management experience supervising technical staff
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and foster client relationships
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
- Strong management ability and team-oriented mindset
- Skill in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, public-agency personnel, and in-house staff
Managerial Experience
- Management of construction bid documents and contracts
- Management of construction support and field coordination
- Management of project schedules and budgets
- Preparation of contracts, comprehensive fee proposals, and scopes of work for private land development and public works pursuits
- Significant experience with client and public/private agency interactions
Technical Experience
- Conceptual and preliminary engineering design studies (land use/zoning considerations, site constraints, infrastructure requirements, regulatory issues)
- Preparation and processing of regulatory plans
- Preparation and processing of public improvement plans (private offsite work and public works)
- Constructability reviews
- Experience with a range of construction support services
- Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures in California and the San Diego region strongly preferred
- AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience required
Additional Skills
- Applies engineering principles, techniques, and procedures to design
- Working knowledge of business and management principles: strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production procedures, interviewing/hiring methods, and coordination of people
- Accepts and carries out responsibility for the design team's direction, control, and planning; sets realistic goals and plans independently
- Thorough understanding of jurisdictional processing
- Strong negotiation skills
- High level of leadership and management ability; responds well to constructive feedback and applies seasoned time management
- Provides mentoring and training to junior engineers and designers
- Maintains a high level of respect and confidence among co-workers and public agencies
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of CAD capabilities for preparing exhibits, studies, and final plans
