Senior Design Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer with specialized experience in water and wastewater conveyance and treatment systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex design environments and is passionate about delivering reliable, efficient infrastructure for public and private clients.
You will lead technical design efforts for pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, and treatment facilities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, constructible solutions. This position offers leadership opportunities in design execution, client engagement, and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
Lead design of water and wastewater infrastructure including gravity and pressure pipelines, pump/lift stations, and treatment plant components
Prepare detailed design documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Perform process and hydraulic evaluations for treatment and conveyance systems
Coordinate with permitting agencies, utility owners, and internal project teams
Support project management tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and client communication
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Participate in QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering (Master's preferred)
Minimum of 6 years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant modeling tools (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerCAD, BioWin)
PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Proven experience in both water and wastewater conveyance and treatment design
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with municipal design standards and regulatory requirements
