Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) - Utility-Scale PV Projects

As we expand our utility-scale solar portfolio, we are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in project execution and technical leadership. Position can sit 100% remote with minimal travel. Ideal candidate must be passionate about solar, interested in a technical engineering role and ready to be part of a collaborative team even if remote.
Position Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and execution of electrical systems for utility-scale solar PV projects. This individual will act as a technical expert, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs.
This is a 100% remote position with the opportunity to work on projects across the United States. Compensation will depend on the individual and what skills / qualifications they bring to the table. PE License strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design for utility-scale solar PV projects.
- Prepare and reviewengineeringdeliverables including:
- One-lines, three-lines, and electrical schematics
- Equipment specifications and layouts
- Grounding, protection, and interconnection designs
- Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash) as needed
- Ensure compliance with utility, local, state, and federal requirements
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, and project management) to support cohesive design execution
- Serve as a technical mentor for junior engineers and support internal QA/QC processes
- Interface directly with clients, developers, and utilities throughout project lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
- 5-10+ years of relevant engineering experience working on power utility and/or renewable energy projects.
- Demonstrated experience with utility-scale solar PV projects (required)
- Strong understanding of power systems, interconnection requirements, and industry standards
- Experience with tools such as ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, or similar design/study software
- Ability to independently manage design tasks and contribute to project delivery timelines
- Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a remote, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain with 6 months - EITs wil be considered)
- Experience working with EPCs, developers, or engineering consulting firms
