Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planner to join their California team. In this role, you will lead complex environmental planning projects, manage regulatory compliance, and provide strategic guidance on sustainability initiatives. You'll work closely with public agencies, private developers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions that balance development and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage CEQA/NEPA documentation, including Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs).
- Conduct environmental analysis and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, agencies, and project teams to facilitate approvals and permits.
- Lead project management activities, including developing scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Mentor junior staff and oversee quality assurance for deliverables.
- Support business development through proposal writing and client presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in environmental planning and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and California environmental regulations.
- Proven experience in project management, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
