Overview
A leading architecture and design organization is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Healthcare Project Architect to join its team. This role is responsible for leading the design and documentation process across complex architectural projects, with a focus on healthcare environments.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure design intent is consistently executed from concept through construction. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong technical foundation, deep healthcare project experience, and a passion for delivering thoughtful, high-quality design solutions in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration, clear communication, and high-performance outcomes
- Partner with clients and stakeholders to define functional, spatial, operational, and aesthetic project requirements
- Analyze programmatic needs, adjacencies, and workflows specific to healthcare environments
- Research and interpret applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Develop design concepts, technical documentation, material selections, outline specifications, and preliminary cost estimates
- Coordinate and integrate engineering systems into cohesive architectural designs
- Prepare detailed drawings and construction documentation for contractor execution
- Develop and manage discipline-specific work plans and project deliverables
- Utilize industry-standard design software to produce architectural plans and documentation
- Participate in internal and external project meetings, maintaining clear communication and documentation
- Provide ongoing updates through reports, meeting minutes, and project communications
- Oversee and mentor junior team members, supporting professional development and quality output
- Coordinate across disciplines to ensure alignment throughout all project phases
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and project partners
- Document existing site and building conditions as required
Qualifications
- Healthcare project experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (professional degree preferred)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in architecture/engineering, including licensure experience
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare facility planning and design
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., BIM and CAD platforms) and productivity software
- Active architectural license required; national certification preferred
- Additional sustainability or specialty certifications are a plus

- Travel: Up to 20%, depending on project requirements
- Work Environment: Office-based with collaboration across teams and stakeholders
