A growing and reputable heavy civil contractor in the Denver market is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to support a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. Position Overview
The Project Manager / Estimator will play a key role in both preconstruction and project execution, working on a variety of heavy civil projects including bridges, highways, transportation infrastructure, excavation, underground utilities, and water/wastewater facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction means and methods and can effectively manage projects from bid through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals
- Manage projects from award through completion
- Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and change orders
- Monitor project performance and ensure financial success
- Support value engineering and constructability reviews
- Work closely with superintendents to ensure successful field execution
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
- Experience in project management, estimating, or a hybrid PM/Estimator role
- Background in some combination of:
- Bridges and structures
- Highway and transportation projects
- Excavation and earthwork
- Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)
- Water and wastewater treatment infrastructure
- Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means and methods
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
