A growing and reputable heavy civil contractor in the Denver market is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to support a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction-focused professional who enjoys both winning work and successfully delivering projects.

Position Overview

The Project Manager / Estimator will play a key role in both preconstruction and project execution, working on a variety of heavy civil projects including bridges, highways, transportation infrastructure, excavation, underground utilities, and water/wastewater facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction means and methods and can effectively manage projects from bid through closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals
  • Manage projects from award through completion
  • Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and change orders
  • Monitor project performance and ensure financial success
  • Support value engineering and constructability reviews
  • Work closely with superintendents to ensure successful field execution
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Experience in project management, estimating, or a hybrid PM/Estimator role
  • Background in some combination of:
    • Bridges and structures
    • Highway and transportation projects
    • Excavation and earthwork
    • Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)
    • Water and wastewater treatment infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means and methods
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
