Overview
They are seeking a Highway Project Engineer with 5-10 years of progressive experience in roadway engineering. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who thrives in a leadership position, enjoys mentoring junior staff, and is eager to contribute to the development of transportation projects that serve communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of transportation project plans for public infrastructure projects.
- Manage and mentor junior staff while serving as a task lead on multidisciplinary teams.
- Assemble complete design packages or manage assigned portions of larger projects.
- Conduct quality control reviews to ensure technical excellence.
- Attend and lead meetings with public and/or private clients.
- Represent the firm at industry and professional society events.
- Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and client engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- 5-10 years of experience in roadway engineering design and analysis.
- Project experience with MassDOT or other New England State DOTs required; municipal experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Skilled in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with multi-modal and Complete Streets design is a plus.
- Public presentation and proposal development experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and meet project deadlines.
