Our client is a national real estate owner/operator of self-storage facilities that has assembled over $2 Billion in assets under ownership or management since 2012. With over 4,000,000 sq. ft. under management in New York City and New Orleans, and deep pocket capital funding, they are positioned for explosive growth in the top tier markets of the most valued sector of real estate.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Senior Human Resources Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all HR functions, ensuring the effective execution of HR policies and programs to support organizational goals and talent strategy. This role will collaborate with executive leadership to align human resources initiatives with the company's mission, while ensuring legal compliance and the delivery of high-quality HR services across the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Lead, recruit, interview, hire, and train HR department staff.
* Oversee the daily workflow and performance of the HR team, providing constructive feedback and evaluations.
* Manage disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy.
You will:
* Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement staffing, recruiting, and retention strategies aligned with organizational goals.
* Lead the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of HR policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational strategy.
* Oversee HR programs related to compensation, benefits, leave management, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training.
* Identify staffing needs and develop best practices for recruitment, talent management, and employee retention.
* Analyze organizational trends and data from the HRIS and talent management systems to inform decisions and enhance HR strategies.
* Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, modifying policies and practices as needed to ensure adherence.
* Stay updated on trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in HR, talent management, and employment law, and communicate these changes to leadership and the HR team.
* Program custom queries, reports, and other functions within the HRIS to improve workflow efficiency.
* Support the HR team with special projects, audits, performance reviews, benefits open enrollment, and other initiatives.
* Recommend and implement improvements to existing HR processes and systems.
* Provide professional development opportunities and certification activities for HR staff.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management.

You have:
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required;
* Minimum of five years of senior-level human resources management experience.
* SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred.
* Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom, PeopleSoft, etc.)
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong ability in using MS Office
* Positive and personable demeanor.
* Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
* Willingness to take initiative and work independently when needed.
* Motivation to seek out answers, generate ideas and improve processes.
* Must be a "team player", able to work well and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and peers.
* Ability to develop an understanding of Company functions, policies, and procedures, as prescribed by management.
This position plays a crucial role in shaping the HR landscape within the organization and will work closely with leadership to ensure the company's human capital strategies drive success and growth.

* Talking, hearing, and seeing with close visual acuity are frequently required.
* Keying data is repetitive motion and is frequently required.
* Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
* Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
* Driving offsite to support Executive team or company functions.
