Senior HVAC Engineer

A nationally recognized full-service engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical / HVAC Engineer to join its Boston office. With a team of 500+ professionals across nine locations, the firm is known for its expertise in MEP/FP and technology services across sectors such as Science & Technology, Mission Critical, Academic, Healthcare, and Commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead engineer on projects with a focus in Science & Technology.
  • Perform calculations, develop design concepts, and oversee project-level production.
  • Provide leadership and direction to design teams using Revit.
  • Ensure tasks are completed accurately and align with sound engineering practices.
  • Develop concept designs and research equipment selections for air and water systems.
  • Design ductwork, water systems, boiler and chilled water plants, and prepare construction documents.
  • Conduct field visits and engage with clients and vendors.
  • Coordinate design aspects across disciplines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical and other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Strong commitment to sustainability.
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience designing Mechanical/HVAC systems in high-performance facilities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Excel, Word, Bluebeam.
  • Strong communication skills and business acumen.
  • Experience with chilled water, hot water, steam, and air handling systems serving Science & Technology, Commercial, Healthcare, and Academic facilities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
