Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000+ DOE, plus bonus potential

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join a growing water resources practice focused on groundwater management, water supply, and hydrogeologic consulting throughout California. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex technical projects, manage key client relationships, mentor staff, and support the continued growth of an established groundwater practice.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, project management experience, and a solid understanding of California groundwater issues, including SGMA implementation and groundwater sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Manage groundwater and water resources projects from proposal through completion.
- Lead hydrogeologic investigations, groundwater evaluations, and water supply studies.
- Support SGMA-related projects, including technical analyses and coordination with GSAs and other stakeholders.
- Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, proposals, and presentations.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and client communications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, geologists, planners, and modelers.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Mentor and oversee junior staff.
- Participate in business development and strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of hydrogeology or water resources consulting experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, and client relationships.
- Strong understanding of California groundwater management and water supply issues.
- Direct experience with SGMA and groundwater sustainability efforts.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- California Professional Geologist (PG) and/or Certified Hydrogeologist (CHg).
- Experience working with Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs), water districts, municipalities, or agricultural clients.
- Groundwater modeling, basin studies, recharge projects, or water supply development experience.
- Existing client relationships and business development experience.
