Senior MEP Manager - Data Center Construction
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Local, Relocation, or Travel Considered)
Base Salary: $225,000 - $250,000 + Full Benefits Package
The Opportunity
An industry-leading U.S. General Contractor, widely regarded as one of the strongest builders in the data center and mission-critical construction market, is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Manager to support and lead large-scale hyperscale data center projects in Columbus, Ohio.
This is a senior leadership position overseeing complex, ground-up data center builds with project values exceeding $250M, working alongside best-in-class internal teams, trade partners, and global technology clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level leadership across all MEP scopes (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection) on large, ground-up data center projects
- Lead MEP execution from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover
- Manage and coordinate MEP subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams
- Oversee budgets, schedules, procurement strategies, and risk mitigation for major MEP packages
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and commissioning standards expected on hyperscale data center projects
- Act as a key interface with owners, designers, and commissioning authorities
- Support field teams with constructability reviews, BIM/VDC coordination, and technical problem-solving
- Mentor and develop junior MEP managers and project engineers
Required Experience
- 5+ years of direct data center construction experience, ideally on hyperscale or mission-critical facilities
- 15+ years total experience in MEP construction, working for leading general contractors or major MEP trade contractors
- Proven experience delivering projects valued at $250M+, with significant MEP scope
- Strong understanding of power, cooling, redundancy, commissioning, and critical systems
- Background managing MEP scopes on large, complex, ground-up builds
- Willingness to travel as required and/or relocate to Columbus, Ohio
