Senior Pipeline Designer
As part of a multidisciplinary engineering and design team, this position focuses on developing 3D mechanical layout models and supporting the design of complex mechanical systems within the Power Generation sector. The role involves both independent and collaborative work, contributing to detailed design deliverables and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanical layout drawings and 3D models as part of integrated design projects.
- Tackle challenging design tasks including mechanical system development, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Use 3D modeling software to create mechanical schematics and design documentation.
- Coordinate detailed design phases across disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Support project teams by contributing to timely and complete design packages.
- Plan and produce mechanical design deliverables such as general arrangements, piping isometrics, pipe support drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Participate in field walkdowns and data collection at client sites.
- Provide guidance on drafting tools and mentor less experienced designers.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent technical training and experience.
- 12+ years of experience in mechanical design, including piping systems and support structures.
- Proficiency in 3D plant layout modeling software.
- Experience reviewing mechanical equipment interfaces and coordinating related design outputs.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and design teams.
- Proficiency with MicroStation and experience with Laser Scanning and Point Clouds valued but not required.
