Senior Project Engineer

Overview
This role focuses on leading solar projects, including c&i and utility-scale solar projects. The position plays a key role in managing multiple projects from RFP through execution, ensuring alignment with technical, schedule, and budget requirements. You'll oversee EPC contractors, internal teams, and project stakeholders to drive successful outcomes across a diverse project portfolio. The role also contributes to setting engineering and construction standards while supporting long-term asset performance. This is a hands-on leadership position with strong visibility across project development, construction, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution of multiple concurrent energy projects (2-150 MW) through construction and delivery
  • Manage EPC contractors, project teams, and on-site personnel to ensure schedule and budget adherence
  • Lead negotiation and implementation of EPC agreements and major vendor contracts
  • Review and approve engineering designs, including electrical and construction plans
  • Coordinate permitting, interconnection, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Oversee procurement processes to support project timelines and cost targets
  • Lead commissioning planning, testing, and project handover activities
  • Support major O&M activities and outages across operational assets
  • Manage landowner and stakeholder relationships throughout project lifecycle
  • Prepare reports and updates for senior leadership and key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred)
  • ~7-10 years of experience in energy project engineering and construction
  • Strong background in solar, CHP, or similar infrastructure projects
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing EPC execution
  • Familiarity with permitting, interconnection, and commissioning processes
  • PE license or PMP certification is a plus
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (25-35%)
