A leading heavy civil and water infrastructure general contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of complex public and private infrastructure projects throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
This position is ideal for an experienced construction leader with a background in heavy civil, water treatment, wastewater treatment, underground utilities, pump stations, industrial infrastructure, or large-scale public works projects. The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in project execution, client management, financial performance, team leadership, and strategic growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead heavy civil and water/wastewater projects from preconstruction through final completion.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, and overall financial performance.
- Oversee project teams including Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, municipalities, engineers, and key stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts, change orders, and subcontract agreements.
- Monitor project risks and implement strategies to maintain profitability.
- Support estimating and preconstruction efforts on upcoming pursuits.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development for project staff.
- Participate in business development efforts and strategic planning initiatives.
Experience Needed
- Experience managing heavy civil construction projects exceeding $20M-$100M+ in value.
- Strong background in water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, underground utilities, industrial facilities, or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Experience working for a general contractor or self-performing heavy civil contractor.
- Proven success managing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.
- Experience with public works and design-build delivery methods.
- Strong understanding of scheduling, cost controls, risk management, and contract administration.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships including owners, consultants, and public agencies.
- Track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of heavy civil and/or water infrastructure construction experience.
- 5+ years of project management leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project controls, and financial management.
- Ability to lead large project teams and mentor developing construction professionals.
- Advanced understanding of heavy civil means and methods.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and construction management software.
- Ability to travel periodically to project sites throughout the Pacific Northwest.
