Position Summary
A leading renewable energy firm is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of solar and energy storage projects. This role involves strategic planning, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, risk management, and commissioning. The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with engineering, finance, and executive stakeholders. This position also supports business development initiatives and drives continuous improvement across project operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of project execution from pre-construction through commissioning and warranty.
- Manage contract compliance and preconstruction activities in alignment with company protocols.
- Oversee utility interconnection and permitting processes to ensure readiness for construction.
- Coordinate with construction and electrical managers to execute both self-performed and subcontracted scopes.
- Develop bid packages and manage subcontractor procurement.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
- Plan project sequencing, labor forecasting, and productivity goals; monitor progress and adjust forecasts as needed.
- Implement site-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Support project accounting efforts including billing schedules, cash flow planning, and receivables management.
- Maintain detailed documentation using project management software (e.g., daily logs, RFIs, inspections, change orders).
- Identify and negotiate change orders with clients and communicate updates to internal teams.
- Provide regular reporting on project status, schedule, cost forecasts, and completion estimates.
- Foster strong client relationships through consistent communication and regular meetings.
- Mentor and manage project team members, promoting professional development.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential project impacts.
- Resolve claims and conflicts efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure quality control through development and enforcement of site-specific quality plans and inspection protocols.
- Champion process improvements to enhance project efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of construction management experience, including 3+ years in renewable energy (solar preferred).
- Strong grasp of project management principles including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and risk management.
- Familiarity with contract law, compliance, and project accounting.
- Proven leadership and communication skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools (e.g., Procore).
- Experience managing complex project schedules.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including multi-day site visits to remote locations.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer-sponsored visa support.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Management.
- PMP certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Hands-on construction field experience.

Compensation
Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000, based on experience and location.
