A growing environmental consulting firm is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join its environmental services team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage complex due diligence, remediation, environmental compliance, and regulatory projects while helping expand client relationships and mentor junior staff.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of technical expertise, project management experience, regulatory knowledge, and client-facing skills.
Responsibilities
Project Management & Client Leadership
Manage environmental projects from proposal through completion, ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
Serve as a primary client contact and trusted advisor for environmental compliance and remediation matters
Develop proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and project execution strategies
Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, laboratories, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
Identify new business opportunities and support the expansion of existing client relationships
Environmental Investigation & Remediation
Lead environmental site investigations and remediation projects involving soil, groundwater, and vapor impacts
Oversee regulatory closure efforts, corrective action programs, and environmental compliance initiatives
Support projects involving site redevelopment, UST programs, spill response, groundwater monitoring, and permitting
Evaluate environmental challenges and develop practical, cost-effective solutions for clients
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to move projects toward successful completion
Technical Oversight
Review and prepare technical reports, work plans, environmental assessments, and regulatory submittals
Ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project requirements
Interpret environmental regulations and apply them to project-specific challenges
Monitor project quality, safety, and risk management processes
Team Development
Mentor environmental scientists, geologists, engineers, and project staff
Support workload management and staff development initiatives
Encourage technical growth and provide project leadership across the environmental practice
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline
8-12+ years of environmental consulting experience
Strong experience managing environmental investigations, remediation, and compliance projects
Familiarity with site remediation programs, UST closures, groundwater investigations, SPCC programs, permitting, and environmental compliance
Proven project management experience involving budgets, schedules, staffing, and client coordination
Strong technical writing and report preparation skills
Experience interacting with regulatory agencies and managing environmental deliverables
Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or the ability to obtain licensure preferred
40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain
