Senior Project Manger - Drainage
We are a leading national engineering and consulting firm dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for infrastructure and environmental challenges. Our Austin office is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in water resources and drainage to join our dynamic team.
Role Overview
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex water resources and drainage projects from concept through completion. You'll manage multidisciplinary teams, ensure technical excellence, and maintain strong client relationships while driving projects that protect communities and enhance resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, design, and delivery of water resources and drainage projects.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
- Serve as primary client contact and develop long-term relationships.
- Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Technical Responsibilities
- Develop and review hydrologic and hydraulic models (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, etc.).
- Prepare drainage reports, stormwater management plans, and floodplain analyses.
- Design stormwater conveyance systems, detention/retention facilities, and erosion control measures.
- Perform watershed studies and evaluate impacts of land development on drainage systems.
- Ensure designs meet TxDOT, municipal, and FEMA standards.
- Coordinate with GIS teams for mapping and data integration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- PE license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- 10+ years of experience in water resources/drainage design and project management.
- Proven track record managing large-scale municipal or transportation drainage projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
