Senior Roadway/Highway Engineer
Position Summary:
We are actively seeking a Senior Roadway/Highway Engineer to lead complex transportation infrastructure projects across Montana. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in highway design, project management, and DOT coordination. You'll play a key role in shaping the future of Montana's transportation network through innovative and resilient engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway and highway projects including rural highways, urban arterials, interchanges, and safety improvements.
- Oversee preparation of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), AASHTO, and FHWA standards.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and mentor junior engineers.
- Support proposal development and client engagement efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway/highway engineering.
- Active PE license in Montana.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and roadway design software.
- Strong understanding of MDT project delivery processes and standards.
- Proven leadership and project management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with federally funded transportation projects.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting and NEPA documentation.
- Knowledge of rural transportation challenges and solutions.
