Senior Stormwater Engineer
Are you an experienced Stormwater or Water Resources Engineer looking to work on high-profile transportation infrastructure projects across New England? We're seeking a Senior Stormwater Project Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of drainage, stormwater, and resiliency solutions for roadway, highway, bridge, and other transportation projects.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside transportation engineers, environmental specialists, and permitting professionals to develop innovative solutions that improve roadway infrastructure, address water quality challenges, enhance climate resilience, and mitigate flood risks. Projects may include roadway drainage design, stormwater retrofits, culvert and crossing improvements, green infrastructure implementation, flood resiliency planning, hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, stream restoration, and regulatory permitting for transportation corridors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead stormwater and drainage design efforts for transportation infrastructure projects
- Serve as the technical lead on multiple roadway, highway, bridge, and municipal transportation assignments
- Perform and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation systems
- Develop innovative drainage and stormwater management solutions for complex infrastructure challenges
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client expectations
- Support projects through planning, design, permitting, bid, and construction phases
- Provide construction administration and field oversight as required
- Collaborate with transportation, structural, environmental, and civil design teams
- Build and maintain strong relationships with DOTs, municipalities, and other public-sector clients
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff
- Support business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and project pursuits
- Lead client, stakeholder, and public meetings

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence
- 12+ years of experience in stormwater, water resources, or transportation drainage engineering
- Strong experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling
- Demonstrated project management experience on transportation or public infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of state and federal transportation design standards and permitting requirements
- Experience with MS4 and NPDES stormwater programs
- Strong technical writing and report preparation skills
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS Pro
- Experience conducting field investigations and infrastructure assessments
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
