My client is a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy recognised for technical excellence, award‑winning design, and a strong commitment to collaboration and mentorship. They are seeking a Senior Structural Designer to take a lead role across civil and structural design delivery, supporting complex projects and mentoring junior team members within a highly collaborative environment.
This role is ideal for a technically strong designer who enjoys ownership, problem-solving, and working closely with engineers, architects, and clients. You will play a key role in translating engineering concepts into clear, buildable designs while helping to elevate standards across civil and structural disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil and structural design efforts from concept through construction documentation
- Develop and produce high‑quality structural and civil drawings and models using industry-standard tools
- Coordinate closely with structural engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure design intent is clearly and accurately communicated
- Perform and guide layout development, detailing, and constructability considerations across a variety of project types
- Support design standards, best practices, and quality control procedures across projects
- Mentor and support junior designers and technicians, promoting knowledge‑sharing and professional development
- Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver coordinated, accurate, and efficient design packages
- Participate in project meetings and coordination efforts as required
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Structural Designer, across a range of building types
- Strong proficiency with structural and civil design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent platforms)
- Solid understanding of structural systems, materials, and construction methods
- Experience working within multidisciplinary consulting environments preferred
- Ability to lead design tasks independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
