Senior Structural Engineer - Hydropower
Position Overview
An established engineering and consulting firm in the renewable energy and water resources space is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support and lead projects involving hydroelectric facilities, fisheries infrastructure, and water resources systems. This role combines technical design, project leadership, people management, and client engagement.
The position offers a hybrid work environment based out of a regional office and is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys mentoring staff, managing complex projects, and remaining hands‑on with design.

Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering
- Experience supporting hydroelectric, fisheries, and/or water resources projects preferred
- Working knowledge of structural engineering standards and applicable codes
- Experience designing concrete and steel structures, particularly in or around water
- Ability to coordinate effectively with hydrology/hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers
- Proficiency with common structural analysis and drafting tools such as MathCAD, RISA‑3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit
- Field experience working with clients and contractors during planning and construction
- Strong problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes a plus
Project and Leadership Experience
- Experience serving as a project manager and/or technical lead on multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Experience mentoring and supporting junior‑level engineering staff
- Comfortable leading client coordination and long‑term project relationships
Additional Requirements
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain authorization to work in Canada
- Willingness to travel as required
- Valid driver's license

Compensation
Salary range: $112,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
