I'm currently partnering with a highly respected, long‑established structural engineering consulting firm to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer for their growing Nashville office.

With multiple offices across the U.S., they deliver structural solutions across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through detailed design and construction administration.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer who enjoys both technical leadership and people development. You'll lead project teams, act as a technical authority on building design, and mentor junior and mid‑level engineers.
Projects span multiple sectors including manufacturing, distribution, data centres, commercial buildings, historic structures, adaptive reuse, and renovations. The client offers a clear growth pathway, whether your future ambition lies in technical specialism or formal leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors
- Lead and oversee the structural design and analysis of building systems
- Review and approve design calculations and construction documentation
- Manage shop drawing and submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits
- Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure quality and consistency
- Perform QA/QC reviews across project deliverables
- Mentor, train, and support the professional development of engineering staff
About You
You'll be a confident and capable senior engineer who enjoys responsibility, ownership, and collaboration.
Essential / Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE); SE desirable
- 8+ years' experience in building‑focused structural engineering
- Experience leading teams or mentoring engineers (preferred)
- Strong project management capability
- Structural design expertise across steel, concrete, and masonry systems
- Experience with industry software such as ETABS, SAFE, RAM, SAP, RISA, Tekla Structural Designer, EnerCalc, ADAPT, or similar
- Working knowledge of Revit (preferred)
- Client‑facing experience (preferred)
