Senior Survey CADD Drafter
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Survey CADD Drafter in Bradenton, FL, to support a growing surveying team. This individual will work closely with Project Surveyors, Project Managers, and field crews to produce accurate survey drawings and deliverables for a variety of construction and land surveying projects.
The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD experience, a solid background in construction surveying and platting, and can take field survey data through the drafting and production process with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise survey drawings using AutoCAD
- Produce plats, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction surveys, and as-builts
- Draft construction staking plans, layout drawings, sketches, exhibits, and other survey deliverables
- Process and interpret survey data received from field crews
- Support platting, subdivision, and construction surveying projects
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
- Coordinate with Project Surveyors, Project Managers, and field crews to resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized CADD files and project documentation
- Manage drafting responsibilities across multiple active projects
- Provide technical guidance to junior CADD staff when needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Survey CADD/Drafting experience
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience with construction surveying and platting
- Experience preparing boundary, topographic, as-built, and construction survey drawings
- Ability to interpret field notes, survey data, legal descriptions, plats, and construction plans
- Strong understanding of surveying terminology and drafting standards
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with Project Surveyors, Project Managers, and field crews
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Background with a land surveying or civil engineering firm
- Experience with construction layout/staking and subdivision plats
- Florida surveying experience is a plus

We're looking for someone who can come in and immediately provide production support to a busy survey team. This person should be comfortable with both construction survey drafting and plat production, understand how field data translates into final survey deliverables, and be able to work efficiently without needing significant oversight.
