Senior Survey Manager
Overview:
The Senior Survey Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of land surveying projects from initiation through completion. This includes overseeing field and office staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing budgets and schedules, and maintaining high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
Plan, organize, and execute surveying services on assigned projects.
Lead project scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project goals and deliverables.
Personnel Management:
Supervise and mentor field and office survey staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
Technical Oversight:
Conduct or oversee boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
Ensure accuracy and quality of survey data, maps, and legal descriptions.
Review and certify survey documents and plats.
Compliance & Quality Control:
Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, client standards, and industry best practices.
Conduct field audits and implement QA/QC procedures.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients.
Prepare proposals, progress reports, and final deliverables.
Represent the company in meetings and public forums as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) required.
- Experience: Minimum 5-12 years in land surveying, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Trimble, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other survey software.
- Strong understanding of survey control, boundary recovery, and construction staking.
- Familiarity with pipeline and infrastructure projects is a plus.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
