Senior Survey Project Manager
LVI Associates is partnering with a respected, employee-owned engineering and geospatial consulting firm seeking a Survey Project Manager to support the continued growth of its Illinois surveying practice.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Illinois Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) who is looking to take ownership of projects, expand client relationships, and play a key role in the development of a growing geospatial team. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to manage projects, mentor staff, and help shape the future direction of the surveying practice while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote position.
Responsibilities
- Manage a variety of land surveying and geospatial projects from proposal through completion
- Coordinate field crews and office personnel to ensure successful project delivery
- Serve as the primary client contact throughout project execution
- Prepare and review legal descriptions, boundary resolutions, survey deliverables, and project proposals
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates
- Utilize innovative technologies and geospatial solutions to address client challenges
- Conduct site visits and field reviews as required
- Mentor junior staff and support the continued growth of the surveying team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout Illinois
Qualifications
- Illinois Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
- 10+ years of land surveying experience
- Demonstrated experience managing survey projects and client relationships
- Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, and geospatial surveying principles
- Experience leading and coordinating field and office teams
- Excellent communication and business development skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in growing a practice
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred
- Civil 3D experience
- Experience with modern geospatial technologies, GIS, LiDAR, UAV, and data collection workflows
- Background working with municipal, transportation, infrastructure, or land development projects
