We are conducting a confidential search on behalf of our client, a global leader in sustainable engineering solutions, for an experienced Senior Technical Lead / Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Water/Wastewater Infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, mentor teams, and drive innovation in large-diameter water and wastewater systems across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Technical Lead on large, complex water/wastewater programs
  • Lead quality reviews of engineering deliverables (calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates)
  • Develop technical approaches for proposals and fee estimates
  • Mentor and train engineering and design staff
  • Represent the firm through technical presentations and professional affiliations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the Americas and globally

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering (advanced degree a plus)
  • 12+ years of experience in water/wastewater linear infrastructure design
  • Expertise in large-diameter transmission mains, sewage force mains, gravity systems, CSO, and stormwater conveyance
  • Experience with trenchless pipe installation and rehabilitation technologies
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Northeast/Mid-Atlantic/Midwest regions (or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Client-facing experience and established relationships in the water/wastewater sector

Preferred:

  • Pumping station and water storage design experience
  • Active participation in technical societies and industry organizations
