Senior Traffic/Transportation Planner
Senior Traffic & Transportation Planner (PE) - Houston, TX (Onsite)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage transportation corridor planning studies, including long-range mobility strategies and feasibility assessments
- Serve as a senior technical advisor and primary point of contact for TXDOT and local transportation agencies
- Oversee project delivery from planning through concept development, ensuring alignment with regulatory and funding requirements
- Develop and evaluate traffic forecasts, corridor alternatives, and planning-level analyses
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, environmental, and modeling groups
- Support client development efforts, proposal preparation, and strategic growth initiatives in Texas
- Mentor and guide junior staff and support team development
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in transportation planning, with a focus on highway and roadway systems
- Demonstrated experience delivering long-term corridor planning projects in Texas
- Strong working knowledge of TXDOT processes, standards, and project delivery frameworks
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas - required
- TXDOT Precertifications - required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with tolling authorities and regional mobility agencies
- Familiarity with traffic modeling tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, TransCAD, Cube) and GIS platforms
- Advanced degree in Transportation Planning or Engineering
