Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager

Our client, a national, 100% employee-owned civil engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager to lead roadway and transportation projects in the Atlanta region. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys managing complex projects, mentoring teams, and building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading transportation design projects from concept through final plans
  • Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with GDOT and AASHTO standards
  • Overseeing roadway design, traffic operations, and related improvements
  • Managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
  • Coordinating with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting staff development
  • Assisting with proposals, scope development, and client presentations
  • Driving quality control and ensuring compliance with applicable standards

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 6 years of experience in transportation engineering
  • Strong knowledge of GDOT standards and procedures
  • Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia
  • Proven experience managing projects and leading teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
