Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer - Virginia (Remote)

Our client is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to support and lead the delivery of municipal water infrastructure projects across Virginia. This role can be performed remotely with periodic travel to client sites and project meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, acting in a client-facing capacity.
  • Serve as a senior technical lead on medium to large multidisciplinary projects, including design oversight, QA/QC review, and technical guidance.
  • Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and coordination across disciplines.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid level engineering staff.
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients and funding agencies, identifying needs and delivering solutions.
  • Contribute to business development through proposal writing, scope development, budget preparation, and client presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in water or wastewater engineering, with a focus on treatment design preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license preferred, though strong experience will be considered in place of licensure.
  • Experience with hydraulics, municipal treatment facilities, and process instrumentation and controls.
  • Proven leadership and client management experience in a seller doer capacity.
  • Familiarity working with municipalities and public funding programs.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
