Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead water and wastewater infrastructure projects from concept through completion. This individual will serve as a key client contact, drive project execution, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strategic insight, and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex municipal projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and pumping projects
Serve as Project Manager on key municipal and regional infrastructure projects
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality across multiple active assignments
Collaborate with internal technical teams to meet client goals
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals, interviews, and client strategy
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and innovation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois or ability to obtain within 6 months
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in water/wastewater engineering
Demonstrated experience managing large-scale public utility infrastructure projects
Strong working knowledge of permitting, funding mechanisms, and design standards
Proven client management and leadership abilities
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
