Senior/Principal GIS & Remote Sensing Manager
Are you passionate about using cutting-edge geospatial tools to drive real climate impact? Join a pioneering Australian business at the forefront of carbon project development, nature-based solutions, and natural capital innovation.
Backed by strong leadership and a sharp, future-focused mission, this organisation is redefining how technology and science intersect to enable large-scale, ground-based carbon projects. Their team is scaling rapidly, and they are now looking to bring on a Senior or Principal-level GIS & Remote Sensing Manager to take their geospatial strategy to the next level.
What You'll Do:
Lead the development, deployment, and improvement of GIS and remote sensing capabilities to support carbon and environmental projects.
Collaborate closely with agronomists, data scientists, and carbon specialists to map, monitor, and model land-use and vegetation changes.
Mentor and grow a small but high-calibre geospatial team, and play a key role in building out long-term capability in this area.
Implement and evaluate new technologies and data platforms, helping shape how land-based carbon projects are scaled in Australia and beyond.
What You Bring:
Extensive experience in GIS and remote sensing-ideally in the context of agriculture, carbon, natural capital, or environmental consulting.
A strategic mindset and a hands-on attitude: you can operate at both the systems level and in the details.
Familiarity with Python, R, Google Earth Engine, QGIS/ArcGIS, and large spatial datasets.
A collaborative, mission-driven approach-this is a team of innovators who care deeply about creating real environmental value.
Why This Role?
Work with one of Australia's most exciting and mission-led carbon businesses.
Be part of a visionary, multi-disciplinary team that's genuinely driving the future of land-based climate solutions.
High degree of autonomy, influence, and purpose in your day-to-day.
