About the Role

An established engineering consulting business is seeking a Senior / Principal Maritime Engineer to strengthen its coastal and maritime capability in Western Australia.

Based in Perth, this role will see you working on a diverse portfolio of coastal, marine and port infrastructure projects across Australia, with a strong focus on WA's unique coastal and offshore environments. You will play a key role in delivering technically complex projects, providing leadership within multidisciplinary teams, and supporting client relationships across government, ports, resources and infrastructure sectors.

The role is suited to an experienced maritime engineer looking to operate in a technical leadership and client‑facing position, with clear scope to influence project outcomes, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver coastal and maritime engineering projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support
  • Provide technical expertise across maritime infrastructure, including:
    • Ports, harbours and terminals
    • Coastal protection works (revetments, seawalls, breakwaters)
    • Piles, wharves, jetties and marine structures
    • Dredging, reclamation and land‑forming works
    • Mooring structures and marine access infrastructure
  • Undertake and review technical analyses, including:
    • Coastal processes and sediment transport
    • Hydraulic and structural performance of marine assets
  • Prepare and review design documentation, technical reports, drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate with structural, geotechnical, civil, environmental and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Provide input during tendering, cost estimation, constructability reviews and contractor engagement
  • Support site investigations, inspections and construction phase services as required
  • Mentor and technically develop junior engineers within the maritime team
  • At Principal level: contribute to client development, proposal preparation, project resourcing and strategic growth of the maritime discipline
