Site/Civil Project Manager
Job Summary
We are partnered with a Civil Engineering firm, seeking a Project Manager (Civil/Site) to join a team in Austin, TX (on-site). This individual will lead civil/site development and municipal infrastructure projects from concept through construction. The role requires strong technical expertise, proven project management skills, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams while maintaining strong client relationships.
The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, manage project financial performance, oversee design delivery, and lead permitting and approval processes.
Job Responsibilities
Technical & Design Leadership
Provide technical leadership and demonstrate advanced knowledge of civil engineering design and project delivery.
Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance on design constraints, engineering best practices, and project-specific challenges.
Lead design teams in developing civil/site plans, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management systems.
Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality design deliverables.
Lead permitting and approval efforts, including coordination with regulatory agencies and submission of applications.
Project Management & Delivery
Develop project schedules, milestones, and deliverables aligned with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Manage scopes, budgets, and timelines while tracking progress against objectives.
Allocate resources effectively and delegate tasks across engineering and technical staff.
Participate in project meetings, public hearings, and stakeholder coordination sessions.
Oversee significant project revenue and ensure alignment with financial performance targets.
Manage financial components of projects, including invoicing, cost tracking, and revenue recognition.
Support accounts receivable processes and resolve billing-related matters as needed.
Client & Business Development
Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and managing expectations.
Communicate proactively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely updates.
Identify and support new business development opportunities in coordination with leadership.
Represent the organization professionally through client engagement, presentations, and community involvement.
Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in civil/site design or municipal infrastructure.
Demonstrated project leadership experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering design tools.
Expertise in grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and site development standards.
Working knowledge of transportation agency standards, local municipal codes, and permitting requirements.
Ability to review, approve, and provide technical direction on design documents and engineering analyses.
