Position Summary:

Seeking a skilled Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of civil scope activities on medium to large-scale EPC projects. This role involves managing site development including grading, access roads, drainage systems, and foundation work. The ideal candidate will coordinate design and construction teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive project success across safety, schedule, quality, and budget.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage civil scope from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Collaborate with design teams to develop constructible plans using geotechnical and environmental data.
  • Oversee subcontractors performing:
    • Site grading and balancing
    • Road and laydown area construction
    • Stormwater and drainage systems
    • Off-site civil improvements
    • Foundation installations
  • Review geotechnical reports and integrate findings into project execution.
  • Develop site logistics plans including access routes and compound layout.
  • Coordinate permitting for civil scope (e.g., erosion control, grading, dust mitigation).
  • Work with engineering and field teams to sequence civil activities with other trades.
  • Lead constructability reviews and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications related to civil work.
  • Maintain civil budget and manage scope changes and risk.
  • Support installation of utilities, fencing, and site services.
  • Collaborate with project controls for reporting on cost, schedule, and productivity.
  • Participate in progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee testing and inspection of civil work (e.g., compaction, concrete strength).
  • Ensure thorough project closeout including punch list resolution and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management.
  • Experience in infrastructure or renewable energy projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of earthwork, drainage, access road design, and utility trenching.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Adaptable and collaborative in dynamic project environments.
