Staff Surveyor
We are seeking a Staff Land Surveyor to join our team and support a variety of land development, infrastructure, and construction projects. This position offers a balanced mix of field and office work (50/50), ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on surveying and technical analysis. You'll be involved in collecting and processing spatial data, preparing deliverables, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support project success.
Responsibilities:
Field Work (50%)
- Conduct boundary, topographic, and construction surveys using GPS, total stations, and other equipment
- Collect and verify field data with precision and attention to detail
- Ensure safety and accuracy during site visits and data collection
- Coordinate with field crews and project teams to meet deadlines
- Document field conditions and maintain clear communication with office staff
Office Work (50%)
- Process and analyze field data using CAD and GIS software
- Draft survey plats, maps, and legal descriptions for various project types
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
- Review and verify data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
- Maintain organized records, project files, and digital archives
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and project managers to support design and planning
- Assist in quality control and review of survey deliverables
- Participate in project meetings, workflow planning, and coordination efforts
- Support permitting, land use research, and client communication as needed
