Stream Restoration Engineer

Our client, a leading firm in environmental restoration and water resources engineering, is seeking a talented Water Resources Engineer or Environmental Designer to join their growing team in Knoxville, TN. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about ecological design and sustainability to contribute to impactful restoration projects across the region.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to design, permit, and oversee implementation of ecosystem restoration and water resource engineering projects. These may include:
- Stream and wetland restoration
- Dam removal and aquatic organism passage
- Flood resiliency planning and design
- Watershed planning and stormwater BMP retrofits
This role involves both office-based design work and occasional fieldwork, including overnight travel.
Candidate Profile
- Licensure: PE or EIT strongly preferred
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in a consulting environment
- Skills & Expertise:
- Stream and wetland restoration design
- Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- AutoCAD Civil 3D design and grading
- Construction oversight
- Understanding of easements, property boundaries, and survey data
- Familiarity with vegetation and ecological processes
Experienced environmental designers with relevant skills are also encouraged to apply
