Structural Bridge Engineer - Lexxel
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to join a growing transportation and infrastructure team. This individual will play a key role in the planning, analysis, design, and delivery of complex bridge, tunnel, and parking structure projects for public and private clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, project leadership abilities, and experience managing multidiscipline transportation infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and rehabilitation of bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, parking structures, and other transportation-related infrastructure.
- Perform structural analysis, load rating calculations, and design development utilizing industry-standard software.
- Prepare plans, specifications, estimates, calculations, and technical reports.
- Oversee project delivery, schedules, budgets, and quality control efforts.
- Coordinate with transportation agencies, architects, contractors, owners, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Support client management efforts and participate in business development activities.
- Conduct field inspections, condition assessments, and construction support services as needed.
- Ensure designs comply with AASHTO, FHWA, DOT, and applicable local agency standards.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation during project execution.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of experience in structural and transportation infrastructure design.
- Extensive bridge design and rehabilitation experience.
- Experience working on tunnel structures, underground infrastructure, or related transportation facilities.
- Experience designing, evaluating, or rehabilitating parking garages and other structural facilities.
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
- Strong understanding of steel, concrete, and prestressed concrete design.
- Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating with public agencies.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Structural Engineer (SE) license.
- Experience with major DOT, MTA, Port Authority, Transit Agency, or municipal transportation projects.
- Familiarity with Bentley OpenBridge, MicroStation, AutoCAD, STAAD, LEAP, CSI Bridge, SAP2000, or similar design software.
- Existing client relationships and business development experience.
- Proven experience managing engineering teams and complex infrastructure projects.
