Structural Project Manager

📍 Philadelphia, PA | Hybrid
🕒 Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8-Hour Shift

Mainstay Engineering Group is seeking a Structural Project Manager to lead diverse and impactful projects across industries. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely while collaborating in-office ~3 days per week at either our North Carolina or Philadelphia location.


🔧 Your Role

As a Project Manager, you'll oversee structural engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical excellence, budget adherence, and timely delivery. You'll lead a team of engineers and collaborate with architects, clients, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.


🧩 Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to define scope and objectives
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines and financial targets

Structural Engineering Oversight

  • Guide structural analysis and design reviews
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes (local/state/federal)
  • Approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications

Team Management

  • Mentor and lead engineers, drafters, and interns
  • Delegate tasks and foster a collaborative team culture

Quality & Site Oversight

  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Conduct site visits and inspections
  • Approve deliverables and ensure design accuracy

Client Engagement

  • Serve as primary client contact
  • Provide updates, manage expectations, and identify future opportunities

Risk & Financial Management

  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Monitor budgets and ensure timely invoicing
  • Contribute to revenue and EBITDA goals

Business Development (up to 20%)

  • Support proposal development and client outreach
  • Attend industry events and represent Mainstay externally

🎓 Qualifications

Required:

  • BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • PE License (Active)
  • 7-10+ years of structural engineering and project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes
  • Proven leadership and mentoring experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • NCEES Record
  • Experience in land development or similar sectors

📍 Work Location

Hybrid work model with ability to report to:

  • Philadelphia, PA Office
  • Hybrid (with weekly in-person collaboration)
