Senior Structural Engineer

The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for inspecting and assessing existing structures, producing detailed evaluation reports, and communicating findings and recommendations to internal teams and clients. This role involves providing expert technical guidance throughout project lifecycles, supporting business development efforts, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of existing structures to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports for use by clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business development and client-facing teams to explain technical assessments and proposed solutions.
  • Design and engineer structural repair solutions within assigned regions.
  • Review structural calculations, drawings, and construction documentation; escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Research and interpret relevant building codes and standards.
  • Provide technical support during the sales process to help secure new projects and strengthen client relationships.
  • Offer expert advice to project teams and subcontractors to resolve technical challenges.
  • Participate regularly in technical seminars and training to maintain and enhance subject matter expertise.
  • Support onboarding and training of new structural engineers.
  • Contribute to the professional development of engineering colleagues, which may include supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications and Expertise:

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Civil or Structural Engineering; Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in concrete construction, repair, restoration, or forensic structural evaluation.
  • Proven track record in forensic and restoration engineering.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Salary $110,000-$180,000 (depending on experience)
