About the Role
My client is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with over five years of experience to join their team in Denver. The ideal candidate has a strong background in structural design and analysis across a variety of project types, including residential, commercial, educational, multi-family, and public works structures. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Colorado and a proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage projects, and provide high‑quality engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural design and analysis for new construction, renovations, and retrofit projects across multiple market sectors.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project quality and design intent.
- Conduct site visits, structural inspections, and field observations as required.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs during construction.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local building codes, as well as industry standards.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience in residential, commercial, educational, multi-family, or public works projects.
- Active Colorado PE license required.
- Proficiency with structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, RAM, STAAD, or similar).
- Strong understanding of building codes including IBC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE standards.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Revit or BIM workflows.
- Knowledge of seismic and wind design principles.
- Background in sustainable design or LEED projects.
